Chad received his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences from Auburn University in 1997 and earned his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, graduating cum laude, in 2000. While at Cumberland, Chad served as the Editor in Chief of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy, was chosen as winner of the Judge James O. Haley Mock Trial Competition, served as a Cordell Hull Legal Research and Writing Teaching Fellow, participated in the Justice Shores Moot Court Competition, and was a member of the Cumberland Trial Advocacy Board. Additionally he received Scholar of Merit Awards in Real Estate Transactions and Worker’s Compensation and remained on the Dean’s List for his entire law school career.

Chad presently serves as the Chairman of the American Bar Association Tort, Trial and Insurance Section’s Commercial Transportation Litigation Committee, is a recent graduate of the 2010 class of Leadership Mobile and was selected as one of Mobile Bay's Top 40 Under 40. He is an active member of Defense Research Institute, the Trucking Industry Defense Association, the American Inns of Court, and Mobile United, among other organizations. He has written materials and given presentations on Physician Employment Contracts; Insurance Law Update: Understanding Current Coverage Trends; Handling the Auto Injury Claim; Settling Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Claims; Truck Accident Litigation from Start to Finish – Recent Developments in Commercial Transportation; Document Gathering, Production and Management for Litigation Paralegals in Alabama; and Advanced Legal Drafting for Alabama Paralegals.
